Companies House needs to verify your identity. We can do it on one 15-minute call.

Companies House needs to verify your identity. We can do it on one 15-minute call.

Under the Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency Act, every director, PSC and Companies House filer must verify their identity — and until it’s done, your company’s confirmation statement can’t be filed.

Fill in the form, book your appointment, and we’ll have you verified and squared away with Companies House. £100 + VAT — one verification covers all your companies.

Who needs to verify?

You need to verify if you’re a director of a UK-registered company, a Person with Significant Control (typically holding 25% or more of shares or voting rights), or anyone who files documents with Companies House on behalf of a company.

Your practical deadline is your company’s next confirmation statement date — verification has to be in place before it can be filed. New appointments must verify before they can take effect at all. If you are unsure whether or when this applies to you, you can ask us or check the Companies House guidance.

Two ways to verify

GOV.UK One Login — free. You can verify directly through GOV.UK One Login: an app, security questions online, or photo ID plus a Post Office visit, depending on your circumstances.

Through a registered ACSP — handled for you. If the self-service route doesn’t suit — your documents aren’t accepted by the app, or you’d simply rather it were done properly in one sitting — a registered ACSP can verify your identity and submit directly to Companies House. That’s us: one appointment, all your directorships covered, nothing left to wonder about.

How it works

1. Fill in the form and pay. Your details, your company number(s), and an upload of your documents. £100 + VAT, paid securely by card.

2. Book your appointment. In person at the Warrenpoint office or by video call — whichever suits. Fifteen minutes either way.

3. The appointment. Bring or have to hand the originals: either two forms of photo ID (typically passport and driving licence), or one photo ID plus a proof of address such as a bank statement or utility bill. On video you’ll need to be on camera with no filters or background blur — hats and glasses off, full face to camera. Thirty seconds of mild awkwardness, then it’s done.

4. We submit to Companies House. We prepare your verification report through ID Vault — software we built ourselves specifically for this — and submit directly. Companies House emails your Personal Code to you, usually within the hour, sometimes the next day.

What it costs

£100 + VAT. One fee, one appointment — and because verification is linked to you rather than to each company, it covers every directorship and PSC role you hold.

Why us?

We’re registered Authorised Corporate Service Provider with Companies House — you can check our registration on the public Companies House ACSP register.

We’re based in Warrenpoint, but video verification works the same whether you’re in Belfast, Birmingham or Bristol. And because we built our own verification software, the process is quick, consistent and properly documented — the same standard we’d apply to anything else with our name on it.

Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions

What documents do I need? Two forms of acceptable photo ID (typically passport and driving licence), or one photo ID plus a proof of address such as a bank statement or utility bill. Originals at the appointment; copies uploaded in advance for video calls.

When is the deadline? Before your company’s next confirmation statement can be filed — that’s the date that matters, and it’s different for every company. New appointments must verify before taking effect, and new company incorporations can’t be processed until the directors being appointed are verified.

What if I miss it? Companies House can impose filing restrictions on companies where directors haven’t verified. It won’t automatically deregister your company, but non-compliance creates filing complications and potential penalties — and it’s a fifteen-minute fix.

I’m a director of multiple companies — do I verify more than once? No. Verification is linked to you, not to each company. One verification covers all your Companies House roles — and one fee covers the lot.

I’m a PSC but not a director. Does this apply to me? Yes — PSCs must verify too, on their own timetable. Tell us your position on the form and we’ll confirm which deadline applies to you.

I’ve already got a GOV.UK One Login. Am I done? Not necessarily — having a login isn’t the same as having verified your identity for Companies House. If you’re unsure, ask; it’s a quick check.

How long does it take? The appointment takes around 15–20 minutes. Companies House typically emails Personal Codes within the hour, sometimes the next day.

How do I know you’re a registered ACSP? Check us on the public Companies House ACSP register — we’d encourage it, frankly. Anyone verifying identities should be verifiable themselves.

Fifteen minutes. £100 + VAT. Off your list before your confirmation statement comes calling.
