Tax

Tax compliance and planning for individuals and businesses — covering all the main taxes, on both sides of the NI/ROI border.

Tax

Tax covers a lot of ground — from straightforward annual compliance through to complex planning and cross-border structuring. We handle the full range for individuals and businesses in both the UK and the Republic of Ireland.

Tax compliance

We prepare and file across all the main taxes:

Self-Assessment: personal income tax returns for individuals, directors, sole traders and partnerships, in both the UK and ROI

Making Tax Digital: Now live for sole traders and landlords over the £50,000 threshold. We’ll get you set up and keep your submissions on track.

Corporation Tax: for UK and Irish-registered companies

VAT: registration, returns and Making Tax Digital compliance in both jurisdictions

PAYE and Payroll: employer payroll obligations on both sides of the border

Capital Gains Tax: disposals of property, shares and business assets

Inheritance Tax: UK IHT and Irish Capital Acquisitions Tax (CAT), including cross-border estates

Tax planning

Alongside compliance, we work with clients on the planning side of each of these taxes — structuring things to reduce liability before it crystallises rather than after. That includes salary and dividend planning for director-shareholders, timing of disposals for CGT, use of reliefs and exemptions for IHT and CAT, and structure decisions that affect how profits are taxed.

Cross-border and international tax

Cross-border tax is one of the firm’s core specialisms. We advise on situations involving both UK and Irish tax law — residency questions, double taxation treaty applications, NI residents working in the Republic, ROI residents with UK company interests, and transactions spanning both jurisdictions.

We also advise on situations involving third countries — income, assets or structures with connections beyond the UK and Ireland, where treaty positions, residency and domicile interact with a third jurisdiction.

For the full picture on cross-border work, see our cross-border tax page.

If you have a compliance question, a planning query or a more complex cross-border situation, start an enquiry or get in touch directly.
